About Us
Welcome to Redcar and Cleveland Teacher Training Partnership (RCTTP).
We are a School Direct working with Whale Hill Primary (Lead School) in partnership with Durham SCITT to offer high quality teacher training in Redcar and Cleveland and the surrounding areas. Our training programme leads to the award of QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) which is awarded by Durham SCITT. We also offer trainees the opportunity to study for a PGCE qualification (awarded through the University of Hull).
RCTTP is extremely well established and has been successfully training teachers since 2002. Throughout this time we have worked in close partnership with schools in Redcar and Cleveland, Middlesbrough, East Cleveland and North Yorkshire in order to provide a high quality programme of training.
We are fully committed to the provision of excellent training and school experience that prepares high quality candidates to enter the teaching profession. Our aim is to train reflective practitioners with the necessary skills to become committed, creative, enthusiastic and knowledgeable professionals, able to meet the demands of teaching in the 21st century.
We are a small and highly supportive provider. Our strength stems from the relationships that we have firmly established with our Partnership Schools and that we develop with our trainees over the course of the training year. These strong and mutually supportive relationships enable us to provide high quality school based training focussed on meeting the needs of trainees underpinned by a comprehensive programme of central training delivered by a range of experienced expert practitioners.
A proven track record
RCTTP has a proven track record. Course completion rates and employment statistics for the programme are excellent. Most of our trainees gain employment by the December following completion of the training year.
